ZUN (Personne)

Jun’ya Oota, better known under his pseudonym ZUN, is a Japanese designer, programmer, scriptwriter and composer of the well-known Touhou Project (東方Project), a series of danmaku shoot ’em ups with associated merchandise. As part of this, he was also the author of several manga adaptations of the franchise.

He was born on March 18, 1977, in Hakuba, Nagano Prefecture and is the only member of the doujinshi circle Team Shanghai Alice (上海アリス幻樂団).

ZUN generally keeps a low profile in his private life, but one of his great passions is beer. Before his breakthrough with the Touhou Project, he was involved in the development of various games as a programmer at the Taito Corporation.
