Pocket Monsters (1996)

A young boy named Ash Ketchum embarks on a journey to become a "Pokemon Master" with his first Pokemon, Pikachu. Joining him on his travels are Brock, a girl-obsessed Rock Pokemon Trainer, and Misty, a tomboyish Water Pokemon Trainer who may have a crush on him. Ash and Co. end up traveling through various regions, including Kanto, the Orange Islands, and Johto, and then enter the Pokemon League competitions there. Along the way, they run into many confrontations with Jessie, James, and Meowth, a trio of Pokemon thieves who are apart of an evil organization called "Team Rocket". But everytime Team Rocket try to do their evil deeds, they fail thanks to Ash and his Pokemon. (from TV)

Isamu Akai ist ein Jugendlicher in der Pokémon-Welt. Als er zu seinem Geburtstag ein Starter-Pokémon vom Pokémon-Professor geschenkt bekommen soll, trifft er auf dem Weg dorthin ein Piepi, mit welchem er sich sofort anfreundet. Zusammen mit Piepi im Labor angekommen, entscheidet sich Isamu gegen ein Starter-Pokémon des Professors und für seinen neuen Freund Piepi, mit welchem er nun die ganze Pokémon-Welt bereist.

Anmerkung:
Dieser Manga hebt sich von allen anderen Pokémon-Serien ab, da die Pokémon hier fast alle die menschliche Sprache sprechen und einen Teil ihres Namens ein- bis zweimal im Satz einbauen. So benutzt hier Pikachu des Öfteren ein »Pika« in seinen Sätzchen. Des Weiteren können Pokémon sich entwickeln, wenn sie es wollen und sich ebenfalls wieder zurückentwickeln.
