Description

Founded in July 1979, Studio Hibari Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company under the longtime management of Hiroyoshi Mitsunobu with approximately 85 employees and headquarters in Nerima, Tokyo, engaged in the planning and production of anime.

The studio initially worked mainly as a subcontractor for Tsuchida Production. In 1985, Seiji Mitsunobu succeeded his father as the company’s operational head (he has also been its chairman since 2002). After the insolvency of Tsuchida Production just one year later, Studio Hibari shifted to subcontracting work for the studios KSS as well as Shougakukan-Shuueisha Productions Co., Ltd.

In 2006, Hibari produced its first own anime series called “Oroshitate Musical Nerima Daikon Brothers”.

The company founded the 3DCG-specialised subsidiary Larx Entertainment Co., Ltd. in 2006 and the Lerche subsidiary in 2011.

In August 2020, the drawing studio Ingress A was reorganised, and the animation studio Studio Hibari Osaka Studio was opened in Osaka.
