Jubei-chan the Ninja Girl: Secret of the Lovely Eyepatch (1999)

Shortly before his death, the legendary swordsman Jubei Yagyu created the “Lovely Eyepatch”, which he imbued with all his abilities. It is precisely this legacy that the inconspicuous high school student Jiyu Nanohana finally takes on when she receives the mystical object from a confused 300-year-old samurai. Der legendäre Schwertkämpfer Jubei Yagyu stellte kurz vor seinem Tod noch das »Lovely Eyepatch« her, in das er all seine Fähigkeiten projiziert hat. Mit seiner Hilfe soll seine Reinkarnation in der Zukunft ebenso seine Kräfte für sich nutzen zu können. Genau jenes Erbe tritt schließlich die unscheinbare Oberschülerin Jiyu Nanohana an, die das mystische Objekt von einem verwirrten 300 Jahre alten Samurai erhält, mit dessen Hilfe sie zu einer unbesiegbaren Kampfmaschine werden kann – was jedoch nicht wirklich in ihrem Interesse ist. Kurz darauf sorgt das bereits für eine rege Feindschaft mit einem rivalisierenden Clan, der sie besiegen möchte, um sich von einem uralten Fluch zu befreien, und sie wird in zahlreiche Kämpfe mit zwielichtigen Gestalten verwickelt, die ihre Waffen kaum auf diplomatischen Wege niederlegen möchten. Zu ihrem Glück werden diejenigen, die mithilfe des Lovely Eyepatch besiegt wurden, von allen negativen Gefühlen und Motivationen befreit und quasi per Gehirnwäsche zu rechtschaffenden und pazifistischen Menschen gemacht.
