Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity (2009)

High school student Yuuri Mito lives with his father as a guardian of the Yachimata Shrine, which is dedicated to the deity Kikaru-sama. Otherwise, Yuuri is a relatively ordinary boy who attends the Sousei Academy and is interested in cars and motorbikes. However, just like his ancestors, he always had the gift of being able to see and expel local spiritual beings called “Tayutai”. He is even more talented in this than his father, who does not always perform his task dutifully. When he finds a strange vessel in his school that is connected to the legend of the deity who is supposed to watch over the local area, he later sneaks into the building together with his friends Ameri and Sankurou because the vessel is soon to be destroyed to make room. They perform a ritual and destroy a seal, releasing numerous evil spirits and revealing a young girl with a fondness for marshmallows named Mashiro Mito, who turns out to be the manifestation of the local divinity.

At first, the naive goddess, who wants nothing more than for humans and Tayutai to live together in peace someday, is still in her chibi form due to the lack of abundant spiritual energy. But she quickly sets her sights on recapturing the escaped Tayutai, assisted by Yuuri Mito, whom she trains from then on in this task. At the same time, however, she develops a strong interest in him that goes far beyond friendship, which is why he takes an oath to marry her as soon as she grows up, unaware that her small form is not her true shape and that she can thus grow into a very well-developed and beautiful young woman overnight. What will happen to the two of them?

Der Oberschüler Yuuri Mito lebt zusammen mit seinem Vater als Wächter des Yachimata-Schreins, welcher der Gottheit Kikaru-sama gewidmet ist. Der sonst relativ gewöhnliche Junge, der die Sousie-Akademie besucht und sich für Autos und Motorräder interessiert, hat aber genauso wie seine Vorfahren schon immer die Gabe gehabt, ortsansässige spirituelle Wesen, die »Tayutai« genannt werden, sehen und vertreiben zu können. Dabei ist er sogar talentierter als sein Vater, der seiner Aufgabe nicht immer vollends pflichtbewusst nachgeht.

Als er in seiner Schule ein seltsames Gefäß findet, das in Verbindung mit der Legende der Gottheit steht, die über das hiesige Gebiet wachen soll, schleicht er sich später zusammen mit seinen Freunden Ameri und Sankurou in das Gebäude, denn das Gefäß soll demnächst zerstört werden, um Platz zu schaffen. Sie führen ein Ritual durch und zerstören ein Siegel, wodurch zahlreiche böse Geister freigelassen werden und ein junges Mädchen mit einer Vorliebe für Marshmallows namens Mashiro Mito zum Vorschein kommt, die sich als die Manifestation der hiesigen Göttlichkeit herausstellt.

Anfangs ist die naive Göttin, die sich nichts sehnlicher wünscht, als dass Menschen und Tayutai irgendwann in Frieden zusammen leben können, aufgrund der mangelnden Fülle an spiritueller Energie noch in ihrer Chibi-Form, aber sie setzt sich trotzdem schnell das Ziel, die entflohenen Tayutai wieder einzufangen, wobei sie Yuuri, den sie fortan trainiert, bei dieser Aufgabe unterstützen soll. Zugleich entwickelt sie aber auch ein starkes Interesse an ihm, das über Freundschaft weit hinaus geht, weswegen er einen Schwur ablegt, sie zu heiraten, sobald sie erwachsen ist, ohne sich bewusst zu sein, dass ihre kleine Form nicht ihre wahre Gestalt ist und sie so über Nacht zu einer sehr gut entwickelten und schönen, jungen Frau heranwachsen kann. Wie wird es mit den beiden weitergehen?
