City Hunter : Amour, Destin et un Magnum 357 (1989)

In “City Hunter: .357 Magnum”, the detective Joe Saeba, the “City Hunter”, once again takes centre stage. At Narita Airport, a foreign dignitary is murdered right before Sandra Nogami’s eyes to steal a microchip. The assassin is named “Red Shinigami”, but it soon becomes apparent that he is an intelligence officer from East Gariera. Because of diplomatic immunity, he cannot even be arrested …

Meanwhile, an “attractive” case arises for Detective Joe when the famous and good-looking pianist Nina Shutenberg approaches him and Kaori with a request. She is in town for a diplomatic benefit concert but also witnessed the attack. She has taken the opportunity to slip away from her grandfather, who is also her manager, and now wants to find her father, who is unknown to her, with the help of the “City Hunter”. But she knows neither his appearance nor his name. She is aware that her grandfather is hiding something from her, but she has no idea what precarious secret he is keeping. In the midst of political entanglements, Joe must now investigate, but does he have any chance of convicting the culprit?

In »City Hunter: Magnum with Love and Fate« steht einmal mehr der Detektiv Ryo Saeba, der »City Hunter«, im Mittelpunkt. Auf dem Narita-Flughafen wird direkt vor Saeko Nogamis Augen ein ausländischer Würdenträger ermordet, um einen Mikrochip zu stehlen. Der Attentäter wird als »Red Shinigami« bezeichnet, bald aber zeigt sich, dass es sich dabei um einen Geheimdienst-Offizier aus Ost-Gariera handelt. Wegen diplomatischer Immunität kann der noch nicht einmal dingfest gemacht werden …

Für Detektiv Ryo ergibt sich währenddessen ein sozusagen »attraktiver« Fall, als die berühmte und gut aussehende Pianistin Nina Spielberg mit einem Anliegen an ihn und Kaori herantritt. Sie ist aufgrund eines diplomatisch orientierten Benefizkonzerts in der Stadt, wurde jedoch auch Zeuge des Anschlags. Sie hat die Gelegenheit genutzt, sich von ihrem Großvater und zugleich Manager abzusetzen und möchte nun mithilfe des »City Hunters« ihren ihr unbekannten Vater finden. Doch sie kennt weder sein Aussehen noch seinen Namen. Sie weiß zwar, dass ihr Großvater ihr etwas verheimlicht, ahnt aber noch nicht, welch prekäres Geheimnis der hütet. Inmitten politischer Verwicklung muss Ryo jetzt ermitteln, doch hat er überhaupt eine Chance, den Täter zu überführen?

Mientras tanto, surge un caso «atractivo» para el detective Ryo cuando la famosa y atractiva pianista Nina Steinberg se acerca a él y a Kaori con una petición. Ella se encuentra en la ciudad para asistir a un concierto benéfico diplomático, pero también ha sido testigo del atentado. Ha aprovechado la oportunidad para escabullirse de su abuelo, que también es su representante, y ahora quiere encontrar a su padre, desconocido para ella, con la ayuda del «cazador de ciudades». Pero no conoce ni su aspecto ni su nombre. Es consciente de que su abuelo le oculta algo, pero no tiene ni idea del precario secreto que guarda. En medio de enredos políticos, Ryo debe ahora investigar, pero ¿tiene alguna posibilidad de condenar al culpable?
