Description

BONES Inc. is an animation and production studio founded in October 1998 by the former Sunrise employees Masahiko Minami, Hiroshi Oosaka and Toshihiro Kawamoto and based in the Suginami district of the city of Tokyo.

The studio’s first project was the Cowboy Bebop film released in 2001 in collaboration with Sunrise. Prior to that, some of the founders left the company because they wanted more production freedom.

Bones produced well-known anime series such as “Eureka Seven”, “Soul Eater” and “Fullmetal Alchemist” and is now one of the best-known studios.

In January 2018, the company, together with Production I.G., announced that they were entering into a business alliance with the American streaming provider Netflix.
