Description

SANZIGEN Inc. was founded in March 2006 and is a Japanese company specializing in the planning and production of 3DCG animations. The head office is located in the Suginami district of Tokyo.

The company has three branch offices in the cities of Kyoto, Fukuoka and Nagoya.

The company began in June 2003 when Hiroaki Matsuura left Studio Gonzo to become an independent. Until February 2006, he worked with a freelance group under the name “3D” and rented an office corner at Studio Fantasia for this purpose, before the company was finally founded in March of the same year.

On August 8, 2011, the holding company ULTRA SUPER PICTURES was founded and SANZIGEN Inc. became a subsidiary of the same company.

On September 20, 2019, the new joint venture and CG animation studio lXlXl was founded together with Studio Millepensee. Some employees from Millepensee’s CG department moved to lXlXl.

On December 20, 2019, the company entered into a capital alliance with Bushiroad. Bushiroad was already one of the major shareholders of ULTRA SUPER PICTURES before the partnership, but the two companies decided to form a capital alliance after Bushiroad was already responsible for the animation production of “Bang Dream!”. The purpose of this partnership was for Bushiroad to produce high quality works, and since the partnership, SANZIGEN Inc. has been involved in the animation of many Bushiroad works – including the “D4DJ” series in addition to the “Bang Dream!” franchise.
